It's been so long since I've written on here. I'm so sorry! I got swamped with grad school, and the year. One of my goals this year is to blog more. I've come across so many great blogs recently, it's inspired me as a teacher, and person. I think it's the best way for us language teachers to share information, and to get new ideas. So here we go... I just wanted to touch on a very short idea that I had in my food unit. I LOVE Frontera restaurant in Chicago . For my 26th birthday my family and I went there. If you go early enough, they’ll seat you that night. Anyways, I’m a follower of Rick Bayless, and his t.v. show “Mexico: One Plate at a Time”. So in my students food unit, I showed one of his episodes. (You can order a season here ). I’ve been trying to get away from Hollywood videos in class even though I really only used to show Selena during oral exams after our culture unit on Texas, but I’m trying to challenge myself.
